Fresh information on the plans for a new bypass road, the "4th Ring Road"

 There is a new route that somewhat deviates from the previous plan, running southwest at a possibly slightly greater distance from Baan Sammi. This new route will also contribute to the improvement of the area on both sides of the route and thus also have a positive impact on Baan Sammi.

Lanna Airport — New international airport for Chiang Mai – Lamphun

 "Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin paid a field visit to Chiang Mai on 11 and 12 January 2024.

During his visit, he chaired a meeting to learn about updates on the progress of various transport projects, including the construction of Lanna Airport, the second Chiang Mai airport.

The new airport will be built on an area covering 6.7 square kilometers in Ban Thi district, adjacent to the province of Lamphun. When completed, the airport will be able to accommodate over 21 million passengers per year, in accordance with the Government’s policy on its tourism promotion scheme."

There are still good signs that planning progress is being made for the new airport: Lanna International Airport.

The new airport will be built in the Ban Thi District area, Lamphun Province. The district borders Chiang Mai Province. From Baan Sammi to Ban Thi, it is about 35-40 kilometers by road, or about 25 km, as the crow flies in a south-southeast direction.

For the Baan Sammi location, this means a positive development of long-term improvement without disadvantages. We assume a scenario that will have the following characteristics:

● With the construction of the new airport, the realization of planning of the new outer bypass road will become necessary more or less simultaneously (see post dated 4 March 2023).
● Given the relatively large distance to the new airport, noise pollution is expected to be extremely low or even absent.
● The currently clearly visible trend of rising property prices in the area around Baan Sammi is likely to increase.

However, there is the possibility for foreigners of concluding a long-term lease contract or a usufruct contract of land. A lease contract can have a maximum term of 30 years. The sale sign states that the land has an area of 1 rai, 3 ngan and 45 tarang-wa, thus 1.8625 rai, or 745 tarang-wa = 2,980 m². This new blog will feature posts all relevant to buying and 30-year leases of land (with or without a house) in and around BAAN SAMMI. In particular, buying or a 30-year lease can be interesting and safe options compared to renting for people who are pursuing long-term living prospects, especially for retirees or people who have not yet reached retirement age but will be retiring in BAAN SAMMI or in nearby areas in the not too distant future.
